PICT is delighted to announce that this year’s Charity golf day will be held on Wednesday 14th October 2026

The event will be returning to Rothley Park Golf Club, Rothley, Leicestershire, which is a few minutes from Junction 21 of the M1.

Fred Haines, who organises this event, has made arrangements for a 9.30 am start with lunch and prize giving to follow the golf.

The cost to enter a team of four players, which includes, bacon roll and coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a buffet lunch, will be £400. As always, this event is looking for Company sponsorship, whether in the form of prizes for the golf or a raffle.

If you wish to support the event or enter a team, please e-mail Fred or the PICT secretary and they will send you an entry form so that you can advise your team details.

Please confirm as soon as possible and no later than the end of September.

We hope this year the day will prove to be well supported and valuable for the Charity as it is one of the key events for fund-raising this year.

If you wish to stay locally The Rothley Court Hotel is next door to the Golf Club and offers comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices.

Charity Golf Day - Thursday 9th October 2025

This year’s tournament was once again held at the splendid Rothley Park Golf Club, the official home of PICT golf, with a healthy turnout of familiar faces joined by several new competitors.

A competitive day on the fairways saw Elliot Baxter claim a well-deserved victory, accumulating an impressive 93 points.

It was particularly pleasing to welcome ladies back to the tournament for the first time in several years. Their participation helped propel the Tony & Marie Woods and Dave & Sharron Jones team to an excellent second-place finish. Well done Ladies!

Our thanks go to the President James Ovenden for generously supporting the event by contributing to the prize fund and presenting the prizes. Thanks also to Elliot Baxter and The Aims Group for their contributions to the prize fund.

Finally, a special thank you to the team at Rothley Park Golf Club for presenting the course in magnificent condition and providing a superb lunch, all served with a smile. A letter of thanks has been sent to the club in recognition of their excellent hospitality.

Charity Golf Day - Thursday 10th October 2024

The PICT Charity Golf Day was held on Thursday 10th October at Rothley Park in Leicestershire. The day was well supported with ten teams competing. 

As always, we were made very welcome by the team at Rothley Park and the course was in good condition with the greens proving a challenge to the players.

The winning team was Elliot Baxter and the team’s Captain, Chris Sanderson, received the prize and congratulations from the PICT President, John Haslam.

Fred Haines, who organises the event, would like to say a big thank you to all the teams who participated and those that donated prizes. And the good news was that the day raised £950 for the charity.

Charity Golf Day - Wed 4th October 2023

I am delighted to let you know we will hold the PICT Charity Golf Day on Wednesday, 4th October this year. 

 

We are returning to Rothley Park Golf Club, Rothley, Leicestershire which is a few minutes from Junction 21 of the M1 and centrally located. I’m sure, as always, Rothley will be in great condition and we will get our usual warm welcome.

 

Arrangements have been made for a 9.30 am start and lunch/prize giving to follow the golf. The cost to enter a team of 4 players, which includes, bacon roll/coffee on arrival, 18 holes golf and a buffet lunch, will be £360. Unlike anything else this year there is no increase to the cost! As always we are looking for Company sponsorship, in the form of prizes for the golf please. 

We had a great turnout last year so I hope to see many of you once again this autumn.

Charity Golf Day 2022

Following a two year absence caused by the pandemic, it was great to revive the Charity Golf Day at Rothley Park on Wednesday 19th October this year. I'm pleased to report the event was well supported with 10 teams turning out on a lovely autumn day in Leicestershire.

The course, which had recently hosted the English Seniors Championship, was in perfect condition, with the very fast greens proving a challenge to many of the competitors. The great conditions produced some fine scores with the team from Chapelton Board, led by Rob Barker, proving worthy winners. Rob also produced the longest drive in a very impressive display.

The Premier Paper team led by Dave Jones and including the PICT President, Tony Wood, ran the winners close with only a point in the scores. The team from Folbb UK, led by Mark Aubrey, were third in a competitive day on the course.

We are grateful for the generous donations of prizes from Denmaur, Elliot Baxter, Premier Paper and Devon Consulting, which means all the funds raised on the day go to good causes. With such excellent support we raised over £1,500 on the day whilst enjoying great golf, in good company in the best traditions of PICT.

As always, we were made very welcome by all at Rothley Park and they are keen to see us again next year.

The event will be returning to Rothley Park Golf Club, Rothley, Leicestershire, which is a few minutes from Junction 21 of the M1. Fred Haines, who organises this event, has told us that Rothley is hosting the English County Senior Men's finals during the first week of October so the course, which is always in lovely condition, will be even better for the PICT event.

Charity Golf Day 2019

This year’s PICT Golf Day, held at Rothley Park Golf Club, Leicestershire, on Friday 11th October 2019, was small but beautifully put together! Unfortunately the day chosen clashed with the Birmingham Paper Makers Lunch (when did they last make paper in Birmingham?!) and it seems our industry is keener on eating and drinking than playing Golf!

 However, thanks goes to the five teams of honed athletes that chose the beautiful Leicestershire countryside to compete for the PICT Trophy and enjoy some fun and some very good golf.

 As always, Rothley Park was in great condition and the teams enjoyed mostly good weather until the heavens opened for the last few holes. The winning team from Devon Consulting produced a magnificent total of 90 points and a huge winning margin.

Many thanks for all the teams who took part and I’m pleased to say we raised just under £600 on the day.

 I will try to ensure there are no gastronomic clashes next year and that we can get a good number of teams competing.
